So, I was sick last week. I know, big shocker! When I was talking to Crystal I told her I wasn't posting about it because it's just old, tired news. "Woo-hoo, Amanda's sick......again." I was pretty miserable and they loaded me up on prescriptions and said they thought I was having a bad allergic reaction. I was in pain, swollen, nauseated, my hair is falling out..... Today I spent from 10 am to 4:30 pm at the dr's office having allergy testing. 40 shots and they still aren't done!! Turns out that for starters I am allergic to lots of molds, dust mites, house dust, cats, CORN and all CORN PRODUCTS, WHEAT and DAIRY/MILK!!!!! They stopped the testing at that point because we ran out of time. I go back in one month. This might explain why I am always sick!! I have to give myself injections 3 times a week for 2 weeks, then 2 times for two weeks and then I go back. I didn't realize how many foods I am going to have to cut out. Jello even is on the corn list. But I take this as good news. I am going to lose all the weight from the steroids and then some (hopefully) and I am going to start feeling better. So I can only eat apples, chicken and rice - but I may start feeling better really soon!

Oh apples and chicken are 2 of my favorite foods. I am glad you are getting some answers but sorry you can't have jello. I hope you start feeling better soon. See things are getting better already. I just love ya to death. Oh no, it is almost Halloween, there is no corn in candy is there? Well candy corns....hahaha I crack me up.

don't worry - after you've been on the shots for awhile, you'll be able to eat those things again. robyn and i are both allergic to corn, wheat, milk, eggs, and chocolate, among other foods.

if you need help with the shots, feel free to call my dad. he gives me mine every week. or, i'm sure robyn's nurse would help, too!
good luck!

btw, allergies are genetic, so your kids will probably have them, too.

just imagine the fun of all those shots!

Oh Amanda, that's wonderful news! I mean it stinks that you have allergies but it's awesome that you finally have some answers!!! I can't wait for you to start getting some relief! I can't wait to see you sometime soon too! It will be soo cool!

When I read you were allergic to corn, I kind of chuckled just because the dip I made this week that I still need to post about is a corn dip! ha ha Guess that one you can't try! Love you girlie!!!

Oh I hate needles. I'd never be able to give myself a shot. YOu can ask Kevin I cried for more of my fertility shots than not. The needle was like a hair it was so thin and not even half an inch long but it scared the bejebees right out of me. In hate them, once again you are so brave and an inspiration!!

Well I got a flu shot today, does that count!! No, it doesn't I can't imagine having to go through that, but hopefully it'll help you live happier and healthier. Then it would all be worth it. I think it is good news to get some answers. Knowing what is going on can give you so much relief. I pray for good results and much healthier times ahead!!
